Past Success with FITT-IIT Delhi <> Boeing BUILD

Over the past few years, the BUILD – Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development Program has established itself as a high-impact national platform for nurturing innovation-driven startups across India. Implemented in partnership with FITT–IIT Delhi as the Partner Incubator for the Northern Region, the program has consistently attracted strong participation from innovators and entrepreneurs across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities, reflecting its growing reach and credibility.

The BUILD 2.0 and BUILD 3.0 cohorts witnessed significant traction, collectively receiving over 1,500 applications. Startups were shortlisted through a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process, with the Top 10 teams from each cohort advancing to the Regional Finale. From these, the Top 4 Regional Winners progressed to the National Finale held at Boeing University, Bengaluru, where startups supported by FITT–IIT Delhi demonstrated outstanding performance, with multiple teams emerging as National Finale Winners.

BUILD 4.0 became the most successful edition so far, attracting over 2,000 ideas from more than 2,700 students and early-stage startups across the country. After evaluation, 75 shortlisted teams participated in regional boot camps and received structured mentoring from startup ecosystem experts, incubator partners, and Boeing engineers. Seven winning teams were selected and each received a financial grant of ₹10 lakh to help transform their innovations into market-ready products.

Collectively, the BUILD program has enabled startups including Modulo EV Pvt. Ltd., SAP Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., Abyom SpaceTech Pvt. Ltd., Green Aero Propulsion Pvt. Ltd., Trishulopulsion Pvt. Ltd., and Trishul Space to gain national recognition, receive strategic mentorship, and accelerate their journey from innovation to impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which region should we select?

If you are a student graduating this year, choose the region in which your college is located. If your team includes graduating students from multiple colleges across regions, choose the region where most team members attend college.

If you are a startup, choose the region where you operate.

We are not sure our idea fits into one of the BUILD themes. Should we still apply?

Yes. We encourage passionate teams solving real-world problems to apply. Innovative approaches that align with BUILD's vision are always welcome, even if they don't perfectly match a listed theme.

What are you looking for in our application?

We primarily want to understand:

  • What problem are you solving?
  • How do you plan to solve it?
  • Why is your team the right one to solve it?
  • Why does this problem matter?

Keep your responses concise, avoid marketing language, and focus on demonstrating your understanding of the problem.

Don't worry if similar ideas already exist. We're interested in your approach to solving the problem.

Can we include links with our application?

Yes. You may include links to demo websites, videos, or other supporting material. However, links unrelated to your application will not be considered.

Are there any course fees?

No. Applying to BUILD is completely free of cost. Limited travel support may be provided for selected teams attending workshops, while personal day-to-day expenses remain the responsibility of participants.

We are a startup but are not sure if we qualify. Should we apply?

Absolutely. BUILD is designed for pre-seed and early-stage startups. If you're at the conceptual stage with limited customer validation, little or no funding, or are still developing your MVP, you're encouraged to apply.

If selected, what support will my team receive?

Selected teams receive mentorship from industry experts, startup ecosystem leaders, and Boeing professionals.

Participants gain access to learning resources, investor pitch guidance, and networking opportunities.

Outstanding teams also compete for prize money worth ₹10 lakh.

What is my time commitment for BUILD?

Regional bootcamps generally last 3–4 days, and selected teams are expected to attend the complete program in person.

Shortlisted teams may also travel to Bengaluru for Boeing Innovation Day and the National Finale.

Teams should dedicate time throughout the program to refining their ideas, improving presentations, and preparing for competition.

Can we submit more than one application?

No. BUILD evaluates teams rather than multiple ideas from the same team. Please submit your strongest application.

Will BUILD help me get a job at Boeing?

No. BUILD is not a recruitment program. It provides networking, mentorship, learning opportunities, and a platform to showcase your innovation.

Are there more specific dates available?

Detailed dates will be announced closer to each milestone. Please refer to the official program timeline for updates.

We have a great idea but are not technical. Can we still apply?

Absolutely. BUILD welcomes diverse teams. We look at how well your team's skills complement your idea and your ability to execute it.
