About
EngSUI is an Initiative of Engineers India Limited under the Honourable Prime Minister's flagship programme of Startup India. EngSUI is intended to build the ecosystem for encouraging Startups in India. EIL has taken up a mission based on the Government's vision to empower this Startup revolution through incubation, cultivation and fostering of worthy ideas.
Objectives
Energy is the lifeblood of the nation. With the growing demand for energy projected in the years to come, startups providing innovative solutions in the energy sector are the need of the hour. Along with policymakers and industry, academic incubation centres play a vital role in nurturing entrepreneurs.
EngSUI channels startup projects through incubation centres functioning at premier institutions such as the IITs.
The programme encourages innovation, disruption and technological breakthroughs in the oil & gas sector while also welcoming ideas from related fields that can generate meaningful benefits for the industry.
Areas of Interest
EIL intends to promote the Startup India initiative through:
- Intellectual support
- Infrastructure support
- Financial support
Startups are encouraged to work on the following focus areas:
- Commercial manufacturing and supply of hardware for oil & gas technologies.
- New processes and technologies relevant to the hydrocarbon sector.
- Information Technology (IT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solutions.
- Renewable energy, energy storage, nanomaterials, engineering plastics, catalyst replacement, waste-to-energy, health, safety and environment (HSE), lubrication packaging and related innovations.
Application Process
Applications are invited through registered Host Institutions/Incubation Centres under two programme categories.
Innovation Challenge Programme
Based on the DST PRISM model, grants are provided through Host Institutions for prototype development. Incubation centres provide workspace, mentoring and technical support. Successful projects demonstrating commercialization potential may later apply for Seed Funding.
Start-up (Seed Funding)
Available for startups that have already demonstrated Proof of Concept with support from a Government institution or agency. Incubation centres also provide support in IP, taxation, finance, branding, compliance, manpower and mentoring to help commercialize the technology.
