Established by IIT Delhi, (IITD) in 1992, the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) allows corporates to have a “single window’’ on IITD science & Technology and foster links between business and the academic community. Over the past several years, more than 250 companies have taken advantage of this opportunity, helping to shape one of the most successful technology development & transfer networks in the country.
Corporate members receive benefits including: advance notification of all patent applications / technologies marketed by FITT, invitations to yearly meeting & dinner, customized research presentations and seminars, newsletters and select information dissemination. Most importantly, however, members develop an advantageous working relationship with FITT that allows them to gain access to IITD research, as well as a variety of local businesses and services. Companies pay an annual fee (depending on their size) for renewable membership.
Technology opportunities
FITT is the preferred route for technology development projects and technology transfer from IITD and new business formation through incubation of technology based start-up companies. Members get a good initial opportunity to have a sneak preview of developments at the Institute.
FITT meetings and seminars
Such meetings provide a unique environment for constructive interaction between business leaders and top Institute scientists. Corporate members receive invitations to such events.
Customized research meetings
FITT can also arrange presentations, seminars and with the agreement of researchers, laboratory visits for the members in response to requests for Institute contacts on a particular subject.
Miscellaneous Services
Corporate members are eligible for discounts/ preferences on training programmes/workshops etc.
Information Support Services : The Corporate members will have access to IITD Central Library Resources (including Consultation & Card Borrowing Facility of the Central Library subject to Rules & Regulations.)
FITT will assist Corporate Members to interact with faculty experts for exploratory discussions on techno-managerial issues, technology transfer or development/research partnership programmes.
